Two of the Nihang pilgrims reportedly assaulted Rawat with sharp weapons, while two others injured four locals who tried to intervene.

One of the seriously injured individuals was airlifted to a hospital in Dehradun for treatment. The condition of the other injured persons has been reported as stable.
