Congress leaders visited Narayangarh and Sadhora mandis, assessed the ground situation
Chandigarh - A delegation of Congress leaders, led by Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Rao Narender Singh and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, visited the mandis of Narayangarh, Barara, and Sadhora to assess the situation on the ground. During the visit, they interacted with farmers, listened to their problems in detail, and inspected the arrangements at the mandis.
Rao Narender Singh stated that there is widespread mismanagement in the mandis, and farmers are facing great difficulties in selling their produce. He alleged that the government has completely failed to understand the pain of farmers and is neglecting their issues.
He said that delays in lifting crops, uncertainty in payments, and lack of basic facilities are troubling farmers at many places. Unseasonal rains have caused heavy damage to crops in the fields, and even in the mandis, the grain has been soaked, while the government appears to have no proper arrangements in place. Farmers affected by natural calamities are also not receiving timely compensation, further weakening their financial condition.
Congress leaders said that the government should immediately streamline the mandi arrangements, ensure fair prices for farmers’ produce, and make the payment process transparent and time-bound.
Rao Narender Singh warned that if the government does not address farmers’ issues soon, the Congress party will intensify its struggle along with farmers for their rights. During the visit, MP Varun Mulana, MLAs Nirmal Singh, Akram Khan, Pooja Chaudhary and Ramkaran Kala, District President Pawan Aggarwal (Ambala City), Dushyant Chauhan (Ambala Rural), Parvinder Pari (Ambala Cantt.), Narpal Singh Gurjar (Yamuna Nagar Rural) and Davinder Singh (Yamuna Nagar Urban) and several party workers and office bearers were present.
