Our Take: River Safety Warnings Need Attention

This incident is a tragic reminder of how dangerous river currents can be, even in places where people regularly bathe. The Ganges, especially in Haridwar, is known for its strong and unpredictable flow. In our view, authorities must put up clearer warning signs at ghats and increase public awareness about the risks. While rescue teams like the SDRF are doing their best, prevention is always better than a search operation. Families visiting such places should be extra cautious, especially with young members.
