The rain has also impacted essential water services. Of the 77 disrupted water-supply schemes, Sirmaur accounts for the majority with 55. Hamirpur has nine, Chamba has seven, and Shimla has six schemes affected.
Orange alert issued for heavy rain in Himachal
With the ground already saturated, the Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for heavy rain across the state. This warning covers all 12 districts, signalling that residents should prepare for more intense downpours.
