Chandigarh. Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Rao Narender Singh strongly condemned the lathi-charge incident in Manesar, stating that the workers who toil day and night to sustain the industrial economy were forced to take to the streets for their rights, and the BJP government responded not with dialogue but with force, which is extremely unfortunate.

Rao Narender Singh alleged that people who were peacefully protesting in Manesar with their legitimate demands were brutally lathi-charged by the police, reflecting the insensitivity and authoritarian mindset of the government. He said that this incident is a direct attack on democratic values, where the voice of the people is being suppressed through the use of force.

He further stated that the government is not focused on resolving public issues, but rather on corruption and misuse of power. Ignoring the problems of farmers, workers, and common citizens, the government is only trying to safeguard its image.

Rao Narender Singh demanded a fair and impartial inquiry into the entire incident and strict action against the officials responsible. He also demanded proper compensation and medical treatment for those injured.

He warned that if the government does not stop such repressive actions, the Congress party will be compelled to take to the streets along with the public and intensify the agitation.
