The National Capital Region's (NCR) boundaries will stay the same for Haryana. All 14 districts of the state, including Karnal, Panipat, Jind, Mahendragarh, and Bhiwani, will continue to be part of the NCR.
According to The Tribune, the decision was made at the NCR Planning Board meeting held in Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Union Minister Manohar Lal.
Haryana CM Confirms No Reduction in NCR Area
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini attended the meeting and confirmed that the state's existing NCR area would remain intact. This puts an end to earlier speculation that up to five Haryana districts could be removed from the NCR.
As reported by The Tribune, there had been considerable discussion about reducing the state's representation in the region. Of Haryana's 23 districts, 14 currently fall within the NCR.
End of Five-Year Debate on NCR Boundaries
According to a post on X by Dipak Dash of the Times of India, the decision comes after long discussions and deliberations that lasted for five years. The post confirmed that all 14 districts of Haryana will remain part of the region.

Our Take: Stability Over Speculation
This decision brings much-needed clarity for Haryana. For years, there was uncertainty about which districts would stay in the NCR. That uncertainty is now over.
Keeping all 14 districts in the NCR means continued access to central planning and development funds. It also means businesses and residents in these areas can plan for the future without worrying about sudden policy changes.
In our view, this is a sensible outcome. The NCR is a complex region that requires coordinated planning. Changing its boundaries would have disrupted ongoing projects and created confusion. The board has chosen stability, and that is good news for Haryana.
