The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced free bus travel for students appearing in the NEET re-test. The facility will be available from June 20 to 22, covering the exam day on June 21.
HRTC Free Travel Facility for NEET Candidates
An HRTC spokesperson confirmed that the free travel facility has been granted in ordinary buses. The move is aimed at helping candidates reach their examination centres and return home without any transportation issues.
According to The Tribune India, the spokesperson said the decision was taken in the larger interest of students appearing in the national-level examination.
How NEET Candidates Can Avail Free Bus Travel
Candidates can use the free travel facility by showing their NEET-2026 Admit Card. The admit card will serve as proof of identity, place of residence, and examination centre.
The facility covers one onward journey and one return journey between the candidate's place of residence and the examination centre. This means students can travel to their exam centre and back home for free.
Our Take: A Practical Step for Students
This is a straightforward and helpful move by HRTC. NEET is a high-pressure exam, and the last thing students need is to worry about travel costs or finding transport. By offering free bus rides, HRTC is removing a small but real barrier for candidates. Other states have also announced similar measures, which shows a growing recognition that exam logistics matter. In our view, this is the kind of practical support that makes a real difference for students on exam day.
