Commander ITBP, IG Manu Maharaj calls on Chief Minister
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Himachal Pradesh Government for direct procurement of agricultural and allied products.
Products to be sourced directly from local farmers and cooperative societies:
- Fresh vegetables and fruits
- Milk and paneer
- Meat and trout fish
- Agricultural commodities

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met with Northern Frontier Commander IG Manu Maharaj and Sector Commander DIG Pawan Kumar Negi to finalize the collaboration modalities.
The Chief Minister stated the move ensures ITBP receives high-quality fresh produce while fostering self-sufficiency in remote regions. This arrangement supports infrastructure development and enhances border management.
IG Manu Maharaj confirmed that a similar successful model in Uttarakhand is now being replicated in Himachal Pradesh. The meeting also addressed the electrification of Border Out Posts (BOPs) under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) to improve essential infrastructure in remote border locations.
